Enterprise Excellence - National Enterprise Framework
This proposal from the SFEDI board and SFEDI Advisory Board is in response to recent government announcements regarding Train to Gain, improved small business eligibility for skills and employment programmes, new products from the business support simplification process and the need to encourage Banks to lend to and support micro enterprise.
SFEDI proposes a ‘real world’ enabling
enterprise development framework which makes sense to business owners, provides
maximum choice and flexibility and allows government and banks to support and
invest in it. Government and Banks are
more likely to invest in micro enterprises that have the know-how and ‘business
savvy’ to survive and thrive. Start ups, self employed, micro and small
business owners are more likely to invest time in development solutions if they
know it is proven in practice and will help their bottom line or ability to
earn a living.
The recognisable outcome of this enterprise development framework will be an ‘Enterprise Excellence Mark’ which is built on researched and proven SFEDI Business Enterprise National Occupational Standards. The ‘Mark’ will be tangible recognition for customers, clients, government and banks that the enterprise has the capability to survive and thrive.
